The Utah High School Activities Association has released the first RPI rankings for the 3A Girls Soccer season, which has reached its midpoint for most schools throughout the classification.

Canyon View sits in the top spot with a 7-1 overall record, Manti is sitting at number two with a 6-1 record. Ogden, Richfield and Delta round out the top five. Carbon sits just on the outside in the sixth spot with Emery at No. 17. Canyon View, Manti, Richfield, Delta, Carbon and Emery all play in Region 12.

Carbon sits at 4-3 overall and holds a 3-2 region record. The Dinos have finished off the non-region portion of their schedule and will wrap up the regular season on October 3.

The Emery Lady Spartans are currently ranked 17 in the initial rankings. Emery has an 0-7 record and is 0-5 in region play.

With region action now underway roughly eight games remain on the regular schedule for most 3A teams. The season will continue through the first week of October, with the state playoffs to follow shortly after.

The RPI standings are determined by three statistically categories:

*MWP (Modified Winning Percentage): Divide the number of possible points by the number of total available points from games played accounting for the adjustment between classifications.

*OWP (Opponents Winning Percentage): Average of the winning percentage of a team’s opponent.

*OOWP (Opponents’ Opponents Winning Percentage): Same process as OWP except the calculation is with the opponents of the team’s opponent.
