
The Lady Dinos welcomed in the Canyon View Falcons on Thursday looking to avenge their only loss this season. Carbon handled the Falcons in front of the home crowd in straight sets, taking the 3-0 win and moving to 9-1 this season.
Carbon and Canyon View faced off less than a month ago at the Dixie Flyer tournament in St. George with the Falcons taking a 2-0 win. This was the first region play meeting this season between the two.
Every set was a battle as the two teams appeared to be evenly matched. Carbon took set number one 29-27 and Canyon View would push the Dinos once again in the second set as Carbon hung in there for the 28-26 win. In the third set the Dinos seemed to find their rhythm as they put the Falcons down taking the 25-16 win.
Sitting at 9-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 12 play the Lady Dinos wait until Monday morning when the Utah High School Activities Association will release it initial RPI rankings for volleyball. The number then will be updated after every game until the end of the regular season on October 17, after the final update the number will be used to set seeding in the 3A State Volleyball Championships, which begin on October 21.
Up next for the Lady Dinos will be a road contest on Tuesday in Manti. Then on Thursday September 14, the Emery Spartans will be in town. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
