Emery cross country headed to the Regional Sports Complex in Salt Lake, the home of the State Cross Country Championships, for a pre-state meet.
Breaking finishers into two different classes within the boy’s and girl’s divisions (freshman/sophomore and junior/seniors). In the junior/senior division, Emery ended the day in fifth. In the freshman/sophomore, they ended the day in 14th. The Lady Spartans only had three runners in each class so they couldn’t compete for a team ranking.
The Lady Spartans had three runners in each class with the top finisher coming from the freshman/ sophomore side, Gentry Christiansen landed in fourth with Addie Hurst coming in ninth. Hadley Meccariello finished in 54th. On the junior and senior side Kallee Lake, Melody Lake, and Kylee Willis competed for the Spartans as well.
In the junior and senior boy’s class, American Fork finished in the top spot. Maple Mountain was in second, with Cedar, Stansbury Park, and Emery making up the remainder of the top five.
The top finisher for Emery on the boy’s side Camdon Larsen, came from the junior and senior class ending the day in 10th overall. Dillan Larsen, Jack Christiansen, Mason Hurdsman, and Stetson Albrecth made up the top five finishers for the Spartans.
For the freshman and sophomores, Hazen Meccariello was the top Emery finisher in 55th place. Jamison Christiansen, Zander Robinson, Ty Christiansen, and Haylen Willis made up the rest of the Spartan top five.
American Fork all took the top spot in this class, followed by Snow Canyon in second. Pleasant Grove, Maple Mountain, and Stansbury Park made up the top five. Emery ended the day in 14th.
Next up for the Spartan Runners is the Carbon Invitational on September 20 at the Carbon Country Club. Race time is set for 3:30 p.m..
