The Lady Spartan volleyball squad found themselves in strange territory last week, on a losing streak. Perfect before last Tuesday the Spartans dropped both matches last week and were eager to get back at it this week when they welcomed the Richfield Wildcats to the Spartan Center Tuesday night. Even though they were pushed to the limit, Emery came away with the 3-2 win.

The Spartans sit at 15-2 overall with a 5-2 region mark, they also hold the No. 2 ranking in the 3A RPI.

On Tuesday night the first set was a battle but the Spartans prevailed with a 25-18 win. In the second the Wildcats would get on the board taking a 26-24 win. The third set saw Emery come roaring back with a 25-14 win.

Sets four and five were a split with Richfield pushing Emery taking the 26-24 win in set four.  In the fifth and deciding set Emery grab the set and match win 15-4, taking the match 3-2.

Emery now travels on Thursday to face the No. 7 Delta Rabbits. They come back home on Tuesday to face No. 8 Manti, before closing out next week in Nephi to face No. 14 Juab.
