012-7

Lady Spartan soccer continues to fight their way through the season in search of their first win. On Thursday they were on the road in Mount Pleasant to face the North Sanpete Hawks. The Hawks came out putting up three goals in the first half and would add two more in the second on the way to handing Emery the 5-0 loss.

Adelay Stavros found the back of the net four different times in the contest for the Hawks, as three went up on the score board in the first half with North Sanpete taking a 3-0 lead by halftime. In the second half, two more goals found the way home as the Hawks took a 5-0 win handing the Spartans their thirteenth loss of the season.

Sitting at 0-13 is definitely not where the Spartans thought they would be this late in the season, but Emery still has opportunities to put a positive spin on the season, as three games remain on the schedule.

On Tuesday, they welcome Juab to Castle Dale. Then they will go on the road in Richfield on Thursday.

The season will come to an end on October 3 when the Dinos come to Castle Dale for “Senior Night”.

The game on Tuesday with Juab is set to begin at 4:00 p.m..
