Carbon soccer traveled to Delta to face the Rabbits on Thursday. Two halves wasn’t enough to decide the winner even overtime wasn’t as they went to a shootout with the Rabbits taking the 4-3 shout out win.
The first half may have set the tone for the entire game as neither team was looking to score with the defenses on display. In the second half both teams started to put it together with the Rabbits and Dinos finding the back of the net, to bring the score to 1-1 at the end of regulation.
In the shootout it went back and forth with shot after shot going through the posts until one team came up short with the Dinos falling 4-3 in the extra time.
Allie Smith had the lone goal in regulation for the Dinos off the assist from Amiah Timothy.
Carbon is sitting at 8-5 overall with a 7-4 record in league play. They sit in the No.7 spot in the RPI, a ranking that will keep changing until the last game of the regular season.
Carbon is home on Tuesday when they will welcome in the No. 8 Richfield Wildcats for the final home game of the regular season as the Dinos will celebrate this year’s senior class.
Game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
