Carbon volleyball earned another region win on the road Tuesday in Richfield, 3-1, moving the Dinos to 13-2. Carbon also owns the No. 1 spot in the RPI as we head into the final weeks of the season.
The Lady Dinos have been at or near the top of the rankings since they debuted at the beginning of the month and look to stay there as well.
It is always a battle to take on the Wildcats, who some may say are having a down year, 6-11 overall and No. 13 in 3A. Carbon came out in the opening set taking a quick 25-14 win. Richfield came back in set two for a hard-fought win, as the Wildcats took the set 25-18.
Set three was another tight as the Dinos took the 27-25 win. Richfield would not go away in the fourth with the two teams going back and forth but Carbon would grab the 25-22 win, taking the match 3-1.
Six matches remain on Carbon’s regular season schedule and they are back on the court at home Thursday to face the No.8 Delta Rabbits.
Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
