Runners from Region 12 traveled to the Carbon Country Club on Wednesday for the cross country championships. Just a pair of meets are left on the schedule before the end of the season, so this was a tune-up for the State Meet coming up on October 24.  Canyon View took the top team spot for the girls and on the boy’s side it was Manti who earned top team honors. Carbon finished in second for the girls and the boys finished in fourth.

Canyon View and Carbon went one and two for the ladies. Emery, Richfield and Manti made up the rest of the top five.

Carbon’s Rozlyn Stowe raced to the top finish for the girls, with a time of 17:59.8. Close behind in second place was Emery’s Gentry Christiansen with her time of 18:33.8. Canyon View’s Lydia Forsyth, Addyson Guymon of Emery and Lara Sorenson of Canyon View rounded out the top five.

Following Stowe, the top finisher for the Dinos was Sophie Taylor who finished in sixth. Ellie Hanson, Ada Bradford, and Aly Bryner all ended up in the Dino top five.

In the boy’s division, Manti claimed the top team spot, followed by Canyon View. Emery, Carbon and Richfield complied the rest of the top five.

Emery’s Camdon Larsen claimed first place for the boy’s with a time of 15:40.9. Tyler Morris of Manti ended the day in second with a time of 15:59.5. Kyle Steinfeld of Manti, Easton Humes of Carbon, and Payson Slade of Canyon View  rounded out the top five.

Humes was the top finisher for the Dinos ending the race in fourth place. Evan Criddle, Dallin Humes, Logan McEvoy, and Bradley Sweeny were the top finishers for Carbon.

Next up is the divisional round that will take place on October 10 at the Lakeside Park. On October 24 the State Championships will take place at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City.
