Jack Spencer Moorhead, age 93, passed away October 6, 2023 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah surrounded by family.

He was born October 7, 1929 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Elmer “Buddy” Moorhead and Georgia Elizabeth Jones.

Jack was a proud Navy veteran and faithfully served our country during the Korean War. On September 23, 1979, he married his wife Elizabeth in Grass Valley, California; she preceded him in death on July 18, 2022. Throughout his life, he worked in the newspaper industry as a publisher. He will be dearly missed by his beloved daughter Sue and the numerous friends and lives he touched while residing in Utah.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Sue Moorhead, Helper, Utah; son, Gary Moorhead, Paradise, CA; step-sons, Garry Smith and Terry Smith, Roseville, CA; along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Elizabeth Moorhead.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Heirloom Inn, especially Desiree Stevenson and Valerie Stevens, for the love and care that they provided. They would also like to thank Dr. Gagon and his staff for always accommodating his visits and taking such special care of Jack.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Nevada City, California.
