suecessical

The Castle Valley Community Theatre presents Seussical beginning Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 pm at the Mont Harmon Middle School. Admission is $10.00 per person or $50.00 for immediate family up to 7 people.

It took some time for the theatre company to come up with a production to run with this year. After Director, Diana Cox listened to the music from Seussical she knew she found the play to perform.  “My brain lit up with all of the color. I immediately started seeing choreography, I started seeing set, I started seeing placement of where I wanted to be. I have listened to Seussical hundreds of times, it’s been in my car for years and years and years, so I’m super familiar with the show, but all of sudden it became really personal to me, and what I really wanted to do, and so here we are doing Seussical.” She is so excited to bring this production to the area and showcase some very talented actors within the community.

If you love the children’s stories by Dr. Seuss you will definitely love this musical comedy. “There’s just certain lines that are pulled from different book titles or lines from books and its just a really smartly written mash-up of all of these great books and stories that we have loved,” said Cox. The audience will see characters like Horton, Cat in the Hat, Jojo, Gertrude and many others. You don’t have to be a Dr. Seuss enthusiast to understand the storyline.

The Seussical production will be held in the Mont Harmon Middle School Auditorium and everyone in the community is invited to attend. The production dates are as follows:

October 19 thru 21 and October 23

October 26 thru 28 and October 30

Organizers will offer special pricing on Monday, October 30 if you attend in a Halloween costume.
