The Southeast Utah Health Department (SEUHD) is hosting its annual “Say Boo To The Flu” event on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the health department building located at 149 East 100 South in Price. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Emergency Preparedness Director, Chet Ingram to get all the details.
“We’ve got it set up to have a drive-thru trunk or treat event with some community partners that will be there to hand out candy and support the kids. We’re excited to see them all come out. We’ll also have flu shots available for all ages, up to seniors and through the whole event,” said Ingram. Getting the shot helps you stay healthy, lessen the symptoms if you do get the flu and assist in building your immunity.
Not only will you have the opportunity to get candy and get a flu shot but there will be car seat checks available too. “We have an amazing team at the health department. They are certified car seat technicians; they learn how to install them. They’re happy to go through your car to make sure they are installed correctly, if not, they’ll help you get it set up correctly. They also have car seats available for purchase, if you end up needing a new one or they find something wrong that are very reasonably priced. They’re a great team,” said Ingram. The SEUHD is hosting a “Say Boo To The Flu” event in both Carbon and Emery Counties. However, there will not be a car seat check conducted at the Emery County event.
If you do choose to get a flu shot during the event officials ask that you pre-register. “Yep, you can go to our website which is https://www.seuhealth.com/ and register online for the flu shots. So when you do that, you don’t have to worry about waiting in line to do all the registration stuff, that’s all done. So it will just help facilitate you through the line faster and get on to your trick or treating through the evening,” said Ingram. The Emery County event will be held on Monday, October 30 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the SEUHD Office at 25 West Main Street in Castle Dale.
If you are unable to attend the event to get your flu shot, no worries as there are clinics held during the week at the SEUHD. “We have clinics open Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm and we’re happy to help you guys then, anytime. We also have it available so if you can’t make those times, go ahead and give us a call at (435)
637-6371 and schedule you an appointment, and we’ll get you all taken care of,” said Ingram. To learn more about the services offered at SEUHD visit their website at https://www.seuhealth.com/
