
The Lady Dinos traveled to Ogden on Saturday to face the No. 2 Tigers. The Tigers jumped all over the Dinos in the first half and came out firing again in the second to hand Carbon the 8-0 loss, ending their season.
Carbon earned their trip to the quarterfinals by bouncing the Ben Lomond Scots out of the playoffs last Wednesday 2-1 in Price. The Tigers handled business beating Providence Hall by a score of 7-0.
Ogden jumped all over the Dinos in the first half putting five goals on the board, as they had everything clicking on both sides of the ball. Defensively Carbon had no answers for the Tigers and offensively they could not get anything past the Ogden goalie duo of Grace Malan and Emily Blackford who combined for the shutout. The Tigers added three more in the second half to close out the Dinos 8-0.
Carbon ends the season at 11-7 overall with a 9-5 Region 12 mark. Canyon View the overall No. 1 seed is the only team left in the playoffs from the Dinos region, and they will face Morgan on Thursday.
Carbon will now look forward to next season and will be looking for underclassmen to step up as they say goodbye to nine seniors form this year’s squad.
