The Annual Green River Outlaw Days is taking place on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 in Green River, Utah. This is fun, family-friendly entertainment.  Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with City Events Coordinator, Robin Hunt to get all the details for radio listeners.

Taking place over the span of two days guests can expect to enjoy a slew of events and activities that all have to do with the western era. “It’s kind of an old west thing just something where you talk about some of the history of outlaws in this area. Then we have some fun with cowboy action shooting, a milk jug shoot, and a horseshoe tournament and so on. It’s a fun time to kind of connect with our heritage a little bit,” said Hunt. Guests can learn the history and hear stories about Flat Nose George Curry Wild Bunch and Gunplay Maxwell.

The Cowboy Action Shooting Competition is multi-faceted shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West. Individuals interested in competing are urged to pre-register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot. “So you can pre-register, you can go to https://www.outlawdays.com/#/ to register.  This is a cowboy action shoot that kind of follows the fast club rules. It’s a lot of fun. We have a big group of people that come and do this and its just very unique. It’s worth coming out to just watch, even if you don’t want to participate just come out and watch,” said Hunt. Participants are decked out in their western garb from head to toe and are ready to put on a great show for spectators. Warm-up for the competition will take place on Friday afternoon and the competition will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday.

The entire event including the horseshoe tournament and milk jug shoot will be held at the Green River Gun Range on both days. Hunt talks about Saturday’s events, “At another portion of the range the milk jug shoot will start and that’s the long-distance rifle, shooting into milk jugs. Then the horseshoe tournament starts at 2:00 pm that afternoon and we just have a couple of pits there for you guys to throw some shoes.” Registration can be done online at https://www.outlawdays.com/#/ Also on Saturday, there will be vendor booths and food trucks available for guests to enjoy all afternoon.

Saturday closes out with a Prime Rib Dinner and Brenn Hill Concert beginning at 5:00 pm at the Event Center at 370 East Main Street in Green River. Organizers want to ensure that all guests wishing to attend the Prime Rib Dinner receive a meal so they are asking individuals to purchase their tickets on or before Thursday, October 26. “So you just have a couple of days, I’d like to know by October 26 kind of how many people to expect for that prime rib dinner. The San Rafael Works are going to be catering it. Its going to be delicious food. Then of course we have Brenn Hill performing live he is absolutely incredible. If you haven’t heard him yet, look him up on YouTube, come check it out, its’ going to be a lot of fun,” stated Hunt.
