The Annual Helper Trunk or Treat event will be taking place on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Helper’s Historic Main Street. Event Organizer, Jake Gray stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.
Anyone with a trunk, including families, businesses and organizations are welcome to participate in this fun, family-friendly event. “If you want to participate and have a trunk, you can show up two hours earlier, we’ll have Main Street closed plenty before that. There will be big signs designating the area as far as road closure and we’ll be able to come and coordinate and direct traffic. Let people come pick their own spot if they want to be on the sunny side. We kind of leave it pretty free, as far as that goes. You have a couple of hours to get there early and get ready,” explained Gray. There is no fee to enter a trunk. Trunks can range from cars, trucks, UTV/ATV, a table with a canopy, or whatever the participant wishes to decorate for the children. Participants are urged to enter from the north side of Main Street.
This year they have moved the event to be in the heart of Helper so it will take place in the center part of Main Street. “Part of the reason we moved it down to the center part of Main Street, we had several of the businesses last year ask if we would move it there. They wanted to bring and coordinate with their business spots and it worked out pretty good. Even some of the businesses that aren’t inside that area still participated last year. So I think we should have a pretty good turnout, I’m hoping for it to be a little bigger. It’s hard to know how much candy to bring but just load up,” said Gray. All children in the Castle Country are invited to attend this family-friendly event.
