The Annual St. Anthony Catholic Carnival will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium located at 22 South Main. As in the past years things will kick-off on Thursday, Nov. 2 with a turkey dinner, then continue to Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 with a Mexican dinner and all the other family fun activities. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Event Representative, Cole Stapley to discuss all the details of the celebration.

“It’s a great family time to come out and the community really supports us in that. So Thursday we’re kicking off with the traditional Turkey Dinner, we do it every year. We start at 4:00 pm and go till 7:00 pm. We have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, all of that fun stuff. It’s going to be $15.00 for adults, $8.00 for kids, then we always have the take-out as well,” stated Stapley. The turkey dinner is the only activity taking place on Thursday evening.

On Friday the carnival activities will begin and take place throughout the evening. “Friday night doors open at 6:30 pm, booths and games usually start around 7:00 pm, they may open early, we try to get them open as soon as we can. We have a lot of fun booths and games going on this year so we have face painting for the kids, a sucker-pull, fish pond, basketball shoot, and all of that. Then we have our religious articles booth as well, and the treat booth going,” said Stapley. There will be several food items to enjoy during the evening like hot dogs, hamburgers, kielbasa, homemade baked goods and fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Saturday will feature the Mexican Dinner from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with an adult plate running $15.00 and a kid’s plate is $8.00. Not only will folks be able to enjoy a delicious dinner but will enjoy all the fun carnival activities and games. There will be a silent auction with lots of gift baskets and certificates to bid on – think of early Christmas gifts ideas. “There’s a lot of great things up there that the community donates every year, they come out and support us. Our local businesses are huge in helping us make this a success and so we really want to thank them for that continued support every year. But it is a great start there’s such a variety up there from salon services to paintings to all sorts of fun stuff,” explained Stapley. The prizes this year are remarkable and should be a good time to outbid one another.

St. Anthony’s Catholic Carnival is a family-friendly event with all the proceeds from the event helping the church with operating costs and the church’s charitable donations.
