
Swimmers from Carbon and Emery High Schools traveled to Richfield. This is the third meet of the season and the Lady Dinos earned the top spot on the girls side of the pool and on the boys’side Emery finished the day in second.
Host team Richfield claimed the top spot for the boys followed by Emery with Carbon finishing in third.
For the Spartans, Will Stilson earned a first place finish in the 100-yard free and a third in the 50-yard free. He was also a part of two relay teams with top finishes, the 200-yard medley along with Chase Huggard, Kade Larsen, and Parker Jensen, finishing in first. In the 400-yard free he was joined by Jadin Atwood, Trek Petersen, and Jacob Stewart, finishing in second. Jensen had a couple of second place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke, he was also part of the second place 200-yard free relay along with Huggard, Larsen, and Petersen.
Other top individual performances were turned in by Petersen with a first place in the 50-yard free, and a second place in the 100-yard free. Larsen swam his way to a pair of third place finishes in the 200-yard free and the 100-yard backstroke. Huggard had a second place finish in the 50-yard free as well.
For Carbon, Cameron Jones had a top finish in the 200-yard free and a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. He was also part of the 200-yard free relay team along with Leland Kespel, Mason Engar, and Spencer Hepworth. Engar earned the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley.Bracken Hanson had a first place finish in the 500-yard free and was part of the second place 200-yard medley team along with James Tullis, Ky Earl, and Logan Kranendonk. Kespel earned a second place finish in the 100-yard fly and was a member of the third place 400-yard free relay team with Jackson Thayn, Hepworth, and Cole Arthur. Hepworth and Earl each earned third place finishes in the 100-yard free and the 100-yard breaststroke respectively.
The Carbon Lady Dinos claimed the top spot for the girls, followed by Richfield and Emery.
Alyssa Chamberlain led the way for the Dinos with a pair of first place finishes in the 200-yard free and the 500-yard free, she was also a part of the first place 200 free relay team with Ada Bradford, Mia Crompton, and Hadley Bower. Carbon fielded two teams in the 200 free and the team of Evie Halk, Aylen Lyman, Ember Lyman, and Jennacie Jeffery earned a third place finish. The Carbon team in the 400 free relay consisting of Ellie Hanson, Maya Bower, Lily Thayn, and Rachel Blackburn finished in second.
Bradford also earned a top finish individually in the 200 individual medley, Crompton went on to finish second in that race. Blackburn had a second place finish in the 500 free and Hadley Bower finished third in the 200 free. Thayn earned a third place as well in the 100 free. Ember Lyman hit third place in the 100-yard breaststroke.
For the Lady Spartans, Purity Mason grabbed first place in the 100-yard breaststroke. She was also part of two second place relays, in the 200 free she was joined by Illyria Mason, Melody Lake, and Jessie Childs, the 200 medley team of Purity Mason, Illyria Mason, Lake and Annie Johansen also swam to a second place finish. In the 400 medley Childs and Johansen were joined by Emma Grimm and Hadley Meccariello for a third place finish.
Childs went on to score two second place finishes in the 50 free, she tied team mate Illyria Mason at 29.34 seconds, and the other finish would come in the 100 free. Acelyn Migliori swam her way to a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Lake earned second place in the 100 fly and third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Both squads will take a week off before they meet up again in Castle Dale, as Emery welcomes the Dinos and Grand to the Aquatic Center.
