The United Way of Eastern Utah wanted to take time to remind families that the deadline for Angel Tree Applications is coming up on Friday, Nov. 17. Director, Pam Boyd stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss the application process.

“We really want people to get them in by Friday the 17th, I’ll be in the office all day that day so come in and drop them off.  We try to get them early because we need to get them early because we send them out to sponsors. So all the things that need to have happen, that’s step one, and so we need to get step one done, and then we can make sure kids get a lovely Christmas,” said Boyd. Applications can be obtained on the United Way of Eastern Utah website or from their office located in Price City Hall, Room #105.

Once the deadline has passed, United Way of Eastern Utah has to form a database with all the children’s names and wants so that Angels can be put on trees around the community for community members to help. “You know what we have some sponsors who just directly take the families and do Christmas for those families and do not put up a tree. But there are trees that people can grab Angels off of. You can find an Angel Tree at the Christmas Tree Regalia Christmas Shoppe at the old Sear’s Building, and you can find one at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, and you’ll be able to find one at Price City Hall – I need to set that one up, so that one won’t be available till after Thanksgiving,” stated Boyd. Once you have picked your Angels off the tree you can go Christmas shopping for them. You will then return the gifts to the United Way of Eastern Utah office in Price City Hall, Room #105.

If your family would rather adopt an entire family for the Christmas holiday, they may do so by calling United Way of Eastern Utah office.  “I do have some people that reach out from the community that want to adopt a whole family and provide Christmas for one of their neighbors and so just call me. It’s (435) 637-8911 or I’m always easiest to get a hold of at email which is liveunited@uweu.org” said Boyd. United Way of Eastern Utah wants to make sure that all children in the community have a great Christmas.
