hope-festival-2

The HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties is excited to be hosting their annual HOPE Festival on Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:00 pm at the Notre Dame Hope Center. Castle Country Radio sat down with Suicide Prevention Specialist, Amanda McIntosh to get all the details.

“We were doing HOPE Festival for quite a few years, back-to-back to back, and then we COVID hit, we had to take a break. I reluctantly but it back together last year, with the help of my team at the health department, obviously, and it was a hit. Everybody seemed to really enjoy it and many hands make light work, when it comes to putting something like this together. So I am super thankful to have the community partners that we do, to put on this year’s HOPE Festival,” said McIntosh.  This event is all about families coming together one evening before all the hustle bustle of the holidays starts.

There is going to be a free dinner sponsored by Castleview Hospital, along with lots of games and prizes will be featured throughout the evening. “We’re going to have so much fun. We have the Ambassadors for HOPE Choir coming and going to welcome us out with some holiday music. Then we will have food, like I mentioned from Castleview Hospital, we’ll have a couple different soups, breads and crackers and stuff – to fill your tummy and keep you warm. We will also be having games and fun with prizes. Then we’re going to end the night with that, you know that ho, ho, ho man, Mr. Santa Clause is going to come and visit us,” stated McIntosh. This will also be a chance to get to know the HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties organization and what they can offer community members.

Admission to the event is free and all families in the community are invited to attend this holiday gathering. “We want you to come out and have a good time with us, again, it starts at 6:00 pm, and it will go till about 9:00 pm. It’s fun, we’ll have lots of prizes to give away, that will be donated from the community. We just want to see you there and enjoying the festivities,” said McIntosh. The event will be held inside the Notre Dame HOPE Center on 185 North Carbon Avenue.
