The Emery Spartan wrestling squad got back to work on Tuesday when the Manti Templars came to the Spartan Center. The Spartans started the season off on the right foot, taking the 51-30 win.
Coming of a very successful 2022-2023 season which had six Spartans finish in the top ten and a State Champion in Monty Christiansen at 106 pounds, Emery was eager to get back out there and start the new season.
Trent Gilbert got things going at 106 this season with a win by pin in his match against Manti’s Porter Daniels. Emery’s Dixon Peacock earned a win by pin over Daxton Worthington at 126 pounds.
The Spartans would go on to collect wins at the 120, 132, 138, 150, 157, 165, and 170 weight classes.
Thursday they will be on the road to take on the Delta Rabbits.
