The Boys & Girls Club – Price Club is excited to offer its members Christmas Holiday hours during the upcoming school holiday break. Club Coordinator, Quakee Tabone stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about all the details.

“Last winter we had some big renovations and we had to be closed for the holidays and this year we’re really excited that we get to be open. We have a beautiful building and we’re really excited to just take full advantage of it,” said Tabone. The renovations were to better accommodate the needs of the club’s members.

The Christmas Holiday for Carbon School District is scheduled to begin on Dec. 22.  “So were closed on the Dec. 22 for Christmas Eve, and then Monday, Dec. 25 for Christmas Day, and then the next Monday for New Years Day as well. But the rest of Christmas break that school’s out, we are open all day 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and we’ve got full days packed of fun,” stated Tabone. The club has so many fun activities planned for the students to enjoy while being out of school for the holidays.

One of the unique things that club plans on doing over the holiday is service projects. “So our juniors are actually having a big emphasis on community service this month for December. They have a lot of fun things planned with the nursing homes, they plan on doing some caroling, and cards. They have a special guest coming in to help them cook a meal that they’re going to be helping serve to people,” explained Tabone. This a great way for the students to give back to their community through their small acts of kindness.

The Boys & Girls club still has openings for the school year so a parent or child is interested in the club and its services, please feel free to stop by the club. “Stop by and check it out and see how it looks, see if you’re interested. We love having the kids come. It’s really not hard to sign up, they just have to fill out a little bit of paperwork and pay a $20.00 fee and they’re good to go,” said Tabone. The $20.00 fee will cover the child’s membership for the remainder of the school year.
