Our sweet mom and grandmother of five generations, Wanda Jones Galer, age 87, passed away on November 28, 2023 after a short battle with dementia and congestive heart failure.
Wanda was born in Clearfield, Utah on October 26, 1936 to Stanley and Mae Casper Jones. She was the oldest of three children and the only daughter. She loved growing up in the beloved Charleston Valley with her cousins and the Provo River and red ledges as her playground. She attended school in Wasatch County and was a proud graduate of Wasatch High school class of 1955. Go Wasps! She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She married Vernon Larsen White on October 1956 in Salt Lake City. When our dad passed away, she married Robert Galer in June 1970 in Las Vegas, NV.
Wanda is survived by a brother, Dale C. (Cheryl) Jones; son, Neal (Kaylynn) White; granddaughters, Brandie (Joe) Cole, Corilynn (Trevor) Kruiewicz, Natalie (Jared) Jones; daughter, Kristy Mae (Doug) Meenderink; grandchildren, Lynn and Miranda Meenderink, Melissa (Kyle) Jones; daughter, Kathy (Rick) Wilde; grandsons, Brandon (Jacque) Wilde, Blake (Emily) Wilde and Bradey (Whitney) Wilde; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; special friends, Kris, Carolyn and Jan and Friends at the Dairy Keen. She always loved hearing from Peg Sabey, her childhood cousin.
Those gone before her are her parents, Stan and Mae Casper Jones; brother, Ned Jones; husbands, Vernon Larson White, and Robert Galer; grandson, Cooper Neal White.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at The Lodge in Heber City. Thank you for taking such good care of her and making her feel right at home with her friends these past six months. And thank you to hospice. You all were a blessing to our family. Thank you so much to her friends at the Dairy Keen in Heber. You guys were like family to her for the past 20 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you. She loved you all. Your many acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
Graveside service, Monday, December 4, 2023, 1:00 p.m., Charleston Town Cemetery (2800 US-189 Scenic, Heber City, UT 84032). A Luncheon will be provided at the Charleston Ward cultural hall following the service.
