Something magical has happened this year for Emery Caring for Kids as they prepare for the long Christmas Holiday.  Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Coordinator, Lindsey Oman to get all the wonderful details.

“So we are really blessed here in Emery County because we have a lot of great people in Emery County. The last little bit we have had a lot of monetary donations and so we just felt like this year would be a great time to use those donations. Actually, we’re just going to purchase all of the Christmas kits this year with all of the donations that we’ve received from fundraisers, food drives, service projects and just amazing individuals who have donated in the past,” stated Oman. This school year the organization has served 106 children in the Emery County area with weekend meal kits and now they will be able to supply the same amount in Christmas Meal Kits.

Generally, Emery Caring for Kids has Barbara Rasmussen pack the meal kits and she does such an amazing job each week, with the Christmas Meal kits the organization will receive assistance from the Emery Aquatic Center. “The Emery Aquatic Center who is one of our drop-off locations, and the employees there are so amazing to help us throughout the entire year, them, along with the EHS Swim Team are going to help pack and organize and help us get the kits ready through the month of December and get them ready to hand out to the kids,” said Oman. It is such a huge relief for the organization to have all of their Christmas Meal kits taken care of this year.

If you’re interested in helping with the cause in feeding school age children in the Emery County area you can get more information by visiting the Emery Caring for Kids Facebook page. “Facebook is a great resource. We have the list of our weekly kits and weekly food that we use every single week because it is a little bit different then what we use for the longer break kits. Also, all of our Venmo information is on there and sometimes we also post when we are running low on different items, we post on there as well, for items we are needing each week,” explained Oman. If you don’t have Facebook or Venmo but are interested in making a donation to Emery Caring for Kids you may do so at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union in Castle Dale.
