Each year you can count on Price Chapel to host Christmas Eve services and this year is no different other than Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. This means that Price Chapel will not host their regular morning worship services on this day but rather host only the Christmas Eve services at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Pastor Steve Swinburne to get all the details about services on Christmas Eve.
“Both these services will be the same, so Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th is Sunday this year, so we’ll have two Christmas Eve candlelight services one at 3:00 pm and one at 5:00 pm. Exact same service, both will be about an hour long, and so whatever time works best for you, can come to,” said Pastor Swinburne. The church offers two Christmas Eve services to accommodate people’s holiday schedule better.
All families in the community are invited to attend the Christmas Eve services as there is something fun for the kids to enjoy. “So one of the things I really like that we do at Christmas Eve, we have at each of the services is a time for the kids to come up, and we do a special little message, story time for the kids, and we’ll give them a little gift as well. So we have that as part of each service and that’s really fun involving the kids in that way,” explained Pastor Swinburne. Adults will enjoy the message that is being shared with the children too.
Each year there is a theme that the services are based on and this year it has to do with Christmas Carols. “We’re doing a series right now where we’re preaching every Sunday on a different Christmas carol during this season, and so we’ll be talking about the Christmas carol, Oh Holy Night, and the meaning behind that Christmas carol at our Christmas Eve services,” said Pastor Swinburne. The gathering is a great way to remember the birth of Jesus.
