Carbon Lady Dinos basketball was on the road to compete in the Color Country Classic at Crimson Cliffs High School in Washington. The Lady Dinos played three games and came home undefeated.
In the opening game of the weekend the Dinos squared up with Orem, Carbon dominated throughout taking a 35-21 lead into the locker room at the half. In the third the Lady Dinos came out, putting up 21 and then another 17 in the fourth to take a 73-39 win.
Amiah Timothy scored 28 in the contest, adding one rebound, and eight assists. Madi Orth added 14, with three rebounds, two assists, and seven steal, and Jacie Jensen had 10 with six rebounds, eight assists, and six steals.
In game number two the Dinos took on Hunter. This contest was much closer than the game with Orem, with the Dinos taking the 61-56 win.
Carbon and Hunter both came out in the first quarter playing even at 17-17. The Dinos slipped back a bit in the second quarter getting outscored 23-16, and trailed at halftime 40-33.
In the third, the Lady Dinos made their move holding Hunter to six while putting up seventeen, and then capped it off in the fourth outscoring their opponent 11-10, solidifying the 61-56 win.
Timothy once again had a huge game scoring 21 with six boards and eight assists. Orth had 11, five rebounds, two assists and four steals, and Kylan Sorenson put up ten points, six rebounds, three assists and six steals.
In the final game, they played an unbeaten Kanab team. Carbon came out in quarter one putting up 15 and then in the second put up 19, taking the 34-28 lead at half time.
In the third Kanab came back firing scoring 20 in the quarter and defensively held the Dinos to 14. The Lady Dinos turned up the scoring putting up 17 taking the 65-60 win, finishing the weekend a perfect 3-0.
Timothy scored 23 with five rebounds, and six assists. Sorenson added 18 and seven boards and Orth had 11 with seven rebounds and three assists.
