Lady Spartan basketball was on the road on Friday, after a home win over Union on Thursday night, traveling to Beaver. The Beavers were not gracious hosts as handed the Spartans their third loss of the season 63-52.

Both teams came out firing with the first quarter going to the Lady Spartans, who would lead 19-10. In the second Beaver came crashing back outscoring Emery 22-13 and tying things up at halftime 32-32.

In the second half, the scoring slowed down, and Beaver did just enough, outscoring Emery in the third quarter 13-11 and then again in the fourth to put the game away 63-52 taking the win 63-52, handing the Lady Spartans their third loss of the season.

Kennadie Maughn scored 15, pulling down six rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. Katelyn Nielson had 13 with eight rebounds, one assist, and a pair of steals. Aliya Lester added 12 points a pair of rebounds and six assists.

The Lady Spartans are back on the court Tuesday night when they welcome Juab to the Spartan Center.
