Shelley Jean (Jones) Gault, age 59, passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2023.

Shelley was born in Bountiful, Utah on April 22, 1964, to Thayde Larelle and Carol Porter Jones. Shelley was the oldest of four children. She spent most of her childhood in Carbon County. She later relocated to Duchesne, Utah, where she was blessed with her one and only child and true love of her life, Derrick.

Shelley loved telling stories and nursery rhymes to all the kids she came across, mesmerizing all kids and adults alike by her talent of making the stories come to life by her special sound effects.

Shelley was an amazing animal whisperer. You could always find her taking in and nursing animals back to health. She loved all animals from her kitty cats to her potbellied pig. She made sure to let them know just how special they were to her.

She was such a gifted and talented artist. She had such a talent to turn trash to treasure. She could turn anything to a piece of art.

Shelley had a big personality but she had a bigger heart. She couldn’t pass a person or animal in need without stopping and lending a hand.

She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting, but most of all, Shelley loved and adored her family. They were her biggest joy in life. She cherished every minute she spent with her two grandsons.

Shelley was always kind and always tried to be the very best mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone she came across.

She was loved by so many and will be truly missed.

She is survived by her son, Derrick (Dannell) Mezenen, Kearns, UT; grandsons, Ledger and Kannon Mezenen, Kearns, UT; father, Thayde Larelle Jones, East Carbon, UT; siblings, Ward (Lisa) Jones, Clawson, UT, Cody Jones, East Carbon, UT, Corrina (Hank) Mitchell, Roosevelt, UT; and nine nieces and nephews, Shandi Partridge, Vernal, UT, Aidan Mitchell, Grand Junction, CO, Elsha Penrod, Nephi, UT, Shadayah Perry, Price, UT, Shaylynn Cheshire, Ferron, UT, Kyla Valencia, Sante Fe, NM, Kade Jones, Price, UT, Kati Jones, Price, UT, Tylee Jones, Roosevelt, UT.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Jean Porter Jones; and one nephew.
