Emery High School senior Creek Sharp was named to the 2A All-State first team, leading five selections for program, it was announced Tuesday.

Despite playing only seven games due to an injury this past season, Sharp led the entire 2A classification in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and yards per reception.

Finishing his senior campaign with 939 yards receiving on 49 catches, Sharp found the end zone 14 times. Sharp was a touchdown machine when on the field, scoring touchdowns in six of the seven games he played, including five multi-touchdown games.

Sharp’s biggest performance came against South Sevier on Sept. 29 as he scored five touchdowns on six catches for 210 yards.

Senior quarterback Wade Stilson was one of four All-State second team selections for the Spartans. Recognized as one of the elite pocket style signal callers in the classification, Stilson finished second in passing yards with 2,569. He also ranked third in touchdown passes with 25, while adding six rushing scores, giving him a total of 31 touchdowns for the season.

Senior defensive back Mason Stilson earned a second team selection. Stilson finished fifth in the classification with five interceptions during the season and recovered one fumble. On top of shutting down one side of the field defensively, Stilson was used in a variety of ways offensively. Not only did he catch four touchdown passes, but also threw one 75-yard touchdown pass against the Carbon Dinos.

Senior linebacker Dane Sitterud earned his second team All-State selection after leading the Spartans in sacks. Playing multiple positions defensively, Sitterud found success patrolling the middle of the field for the Spartans. Averaging four tackles per game, Sitterud sacked the quarterback three times in 2023. He also led the team in tackles for loss with nine.

Junior defensive lineman Kalib O’Neil rounds out the All-State honors for Emery as he too earned a spot on the second team. Anchoring both the offensive and defensive lines, O’Neil is known for his tenacity on the field. Despite being a focal point for most opposing offensives, O’Neil managed 28 tackles from the defensive line, five of which resulted in loss of yardage.

The All-State teams are voted on and selected by coaches throughout the classification.
