On the evening of December 14, 2023, Colleen Snyder Wells, our loving mom completed her mortal journey and graduated to the next level on her covenant path.

She was born June 5, 1928 in a coal camp in Spring Canyon, Utah to Edwin C. Snyder and Annie Margaret Cook. She spent her early years in Altamont and Wellington on the family farm being the only daughter with four brothers who affectionately referred to her as Sally.

On March 12, 1947, she married Dal Pierce Wells in the Manti Temple for time and eternity. Early in their marriage, they moved from Wellington to dad’s family farm in Victor. Later moving to the church welfare farm in Price before returning to her childhood home in Wellington.

Mom was a hard worker all her life. She loved sewing and crafts. Working at JCPenney for years in the fabric department supplied her material stash. She never made just “one” of anything in her life. It was always multiples of quilts, blankets, pound puppies, pixies, or whatever her current project was. Especially later when sewing was no longer possible, it was hangers. Thousands of hangers.

Mom was literally one of the nicest, sweetest, angels ever, always caring for and helping others. She loved sharing all of her home remedies. Including, but not limited to, gook, vitamin C, comfrey, or fisherman’s friend.

Her testimony of and commitment to Jesus Christ was undeniable. She loved reading and studying the scriptures, church books, magazines, and manuals. She faithfully attended the temple and served in all church callings religiously. At 95, going to sacrament meeting and relief society was the highlight of her week. Even when she might not be feeling the best, she always exerted the extra effort to be wherever she was supposed to be and helped and encouraged others along the way.

Mom loved and prayed for the welfare of her family. She was at her happiest when the kids, grands, and greats would stop by for a visit and she could share loving motherly encouragement and advice.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Dal, older brother Paul, twin baby daughters, and grand-daughter, Frankie. She is survived by her son Glen (Tammy) Wells, daughters, Cheryl (Arnie) Cooper, Paula (Kim) Noyes, all of Wellington and son Ted (Margaret) Wells of Price. 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grands, brothers Jim, Bill, and Nyles Snyder, brother in-law, Larry Lauritsen and many nieces and nephews.

Her body was worn out and disease had led to pain, confusion, and frustration. She was ready and willing to reunite with loved ones waiting for her. We will find comfort knowing she’s there with them, watching over and waiting for us. Mom, we love you and are so grateful for your legacy of service and love… Until we meet again.
