
The Carbon Dinos traveled to the Emery County Aquatic Center Tuesday afternoon to compete against Emery and Uintah in the final swim meet before Christmas break.
The Lady Dinos delivered a huge performance, easily walking away with the top team spot after winning eight of the 11 events. Gathering a team score of 315, Carbon topped second place Emery’s score of 276. Uintah finished in third with 130.
The Carbon boys’ team claimed just one event win, leading to a third-place finish with 144 points. Uintah claimed the top spot with 347 points, while Emery ended in second with 249.
Ada’ Bradford and Alyssa Chamberlain both finished first place in each of the four events they competed in. The two teamed with Andrea Swasey and Kanyon Christensen in the 200-yard medley relay, beating Emery by 0:00.02 for first with a time of 2:12.71. Bradford and Chamberlain later joined Mia Crompton and Hadley Bower for the top finish in the 400-yard free relay with a time of 4:18.00.
Bradford added to her stellar day with a win in the 200-yard IM, defeating teammate Jennacie Jeffery. She also took home first place in the 500-yard free, topping teammates Ellie Hanson, Rachel Blackburn and Lily Thayn as Carbon claimed the top four spots in the event.
Chamberlain was top in two individual events, winning the 50-yard free with a time of 27.05. She later won the 100-yard free as she finished in 1:00.19, just ahead of teammates Crompton and Jeffery.
Christensen earned a win in the 100-yard fly with an ending time of 1:20.52. The final individual victory came in the 100-yard backstroke as Evie Halk registered a time of 1:15.13.
Cameron Jones scored the lone event win for the Carbon as he topped teammate Logan Kranendonk in the 500-yard free, finishing in 5:52.19.
Carbon will now take a lengthy break for the holiday season, returning to the pool on Friday, Jan. 5 and 6 with a trip to the Red Rock Invitational.
