Price City had a great year with many events taking place over the year that benefited our city and its residents.  Castle Country Radio invited the mayor and members of the City Council to come in a talk about their favorite event this year.

City Council Member, Joe Christmas spoke about his thoughts on the Christmas Tree Regalia, “One of the things that you just mentioned that it came to my mind, was what recently ended, was the Christmas Tree thing downtown on Main Street. My wife and I went through there, I was just so impressed with the community got behind it and the plethora of Christmas trees and the spirit, it’s just that holiday season.” The Christmas Tree Regalia was held throughout businesses on Main Street where guests were able to bid on various trees that were donated by merchants, individuals and families.

City Council Member, Layne Miller spoke about International Days being his favorite of the year, “The highlight for me was International Days. Huge event, record number of vendors, the parade was big. We had to close off an extra couple of streets so that all the floats could stage the drone show at the end – huge numbers in the park.” The city celebration brought droves of people out to Washington Park for music, games, carnival, food, and live entertainment.

City Council Member, Amy Knott-Jespersen spoke about the bike races that were held in the area, “Although its not something that Price City puts on, it does have a huge impact on our community. So we hosted three bike races this year, and our restaurants were great, and our hotels were great. The league loves to hold bike races here, we got a great venue, its close to town. You know our citizens, our restaurants, our hospitality, is welcoming and appreciative and they do everything they can to accommodate the thousands and thousands of visitors that come for those weekends.”

Price City Mayor Mike Kourianos, closed things with a holiday message, “I just want to do a great shoutout to our community and those that are listening, that we are thinking of you and we love you and just appreciate you and for us to have that opportunity to serve you. Also, for our staff and our employees of Price City thank you.” The Price City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Price City Hall Council Chambers located at 185 East Main Street.
