
The Lady Dinos hadn’t been on the basketball court since before Christmas when they dismantled Delta 67-24. On Thursday night they returned to the court on the road in Nephi to meet up with the Juab Wasps, taking the hard fought 56-55 win.
Carbon sits at 8-4 this season and has yet to lose a Region 12 contest with a perfect 3-0 record in conference play, they also sit at the No. 3 spot in the current RPI.
Juab came out and controlled the game from the beginning, earning a 17-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second, Carbon came out the aggressor and cut into the Juab lead, reducing the deficit to 31-27 going into the locker room.
The third was where the Lady Dinos made their move pushing the Wasps and tying up the game by the end of the quarter. All it took was outscoring Juab by one point in the fourth to take the 56-55 win.
Madi Orth led the Dinos with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assist and a pair of blocks, Amaiah Timothy had 14 with 13 rebounds and five assists, and Kylan Sorenson added 13 with four boards in the region win for the Dinos.
Carbon will be back on the court next Thursday when they travel to Richfield for another conference tilt. The Wildcats have earned a 9-3 record and also carry a perfect 3-0 mark in region play holding the No. 2 spot in the latest RPI ranking.
The Lady Dinos will be back on their home court on Tuesday, January 9, when they welcome Manti to Price.
