The Dino swim team got back to the pool after a long layoff traveling to St. George for the Red Rock Invitational.  When the waters calmed the Lady Dinos claimed fifth out of 16 teams, while the boys landed in the 10 spot out of 15 teams.

December 19 was the last time Carbon was in the pool taking part in a meet at the Emery Aquatic Center.

Wasatch earned the top spot in the girl’s division followed by Cedar City in second. Provo, Desert Hills, and Carbon made up the remainder of the top five.

Relays helped the Lady Dinos earn big points in St. George, taking third place in the 200 free medley with the team of Hadley Bower, Lisa King, Alyssa Chamberlain, and Mia Crompton. Bower, Ada Bradford, Lily Flores, and Kanyon Christensen finished in seventh in the 200 medley relay, and in the 400 medley relay King, Crompton, Chamberlain, and Bradford swam their way to a seventh-place finish.

Chamberlain went on to finish fifth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free. King finished ninth in the 50 free, Evie Halk finished tenth in the 500 free and Bradford took tenth in the 200 free.

In the boy’s division, Wasatch also claimed the top spot followed by Crimson Cliffs in second. Canyon View, Cedar City, and Desert Hills made up the top five. Carbon ended the weekend in tenth.

Carbon had a pair of top-ten finishes in relays, in the 200 free Cole Arthur, Bracken Hanson, Spencer Hepworth, and Leland Kespel swam to a seventh-place finish, and in the 400 free Hepworth, Hansen, Cameron Jones, and Logan Kranendonk finished in 10.

Jones also had a pair of eighth-place finishes in the 200 free and the 500 free.

Carbon will host Union Tuesday in the newly remodeled pool in Price.
