It’s time for another Price City update and Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Mayor Michael Kourianos who spoke about the indoor pool and upcoming events.

The first thing to discuss is the completion of the indoor swimming pool that is finally after many months of construction is finally completed. “Yes, as of last night, and I want to give a big shout out to Steve Daily, he was the Project Manager; Tamara and Camara went above and beyond coming up with solutions through this whole project. Between those three, this project wouldn’t have happened in trying to achieve the timeline. We could have easily gone another month with this project but because of Tamara, Camara and Allie Chamberlain, Swim Coach, everybody jumped in and we completed this project this last weekend,” stated Mayor Kourianos. This is going to benefit not only the public but the high school’s swim team who will be able to host various competitions.

The project has brought in new technology that will help with water conservation efforts. “Its going to be brand new. It will look the same, but the inner workings we brought the new technology, there’s a surge tank. When people jump in that pool, rather than it going to the drain, now it’s going into a surge tank. So when people get out, now that water gets pumped back in. So the water conservation of that pool is huge, that’s bringing the technology because that pool was built when I was in the 60s,” said Mayor Kourianos. The cosmetic improvements are sure to be appealing to the public’s eye.

New year, means another year of great community gatherings like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Renaissance Fair. “I have to give credit to Layne Miller, Megan Marshall, that group that wanted to put on that Renaissance Fair. The first year, it was okay, but last year, it blossomed and you know what the community really liked it. I got a lot of positive things that came from it,” said Mayor Kourianos. He wanted to mention the hard work of the City Employees who come in on a Saturday to help during the Renaissance Fair and thanked them for a job well done.
