Richard Allen Allred, 83, of Carbonville passed away at home on January 11, 2024 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born on May 29, 1940 in Rains, Utah, the fourth child of Joseph Daniel and Florence Jacob Allred. Married Audrey Hall on December 30, 1966 in McGill, Nevada and together they recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held many callings.

Richard graduated from Carbon High School in May of 1959. He attended college in Price and later went to work for Sperry/Univac in Salt Lake City. He later moved to McGill, Nevada to work at Kennecott Copper. Between 1967 and 1975, the family lived in McGill, Nevada and also in Kearns, Utah. In 1976 the family moved to Carbonville after Richard got a job with Utah Power and Light at the Huntington Power Plant. Richard worked there until his retirement in 1995. Richard was an avid farmer, outdoorsman, and loved any opportunity to take his family camping, fishing or hunting. He was also a skilled mechanic and carpenter. There was no job too big for him to take on. He always had a saying that, “If one man built it, another man can fix it.”

Richard loved being connected to family as well as his vast extended family. He and Audrey were blessed with six children, twenty grandchildren and at the time of his death, nine great-grandchildren and another due in March, 2024. Nothing brought more joy to him than seeing all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren laughing, telling stories and being together.

Richard is survived by his wife, Audrey; children, Kristy (Joe) Donaldson of Hyrum, UT, Michael (Kerina) Allred of Carbonville, UT, Marla (Paul) Greenberg of Santaquin, UT, Kelly (Kelly) Donaldson of Logan, UT, Joseph (Melissa) Allred of Worcester, MA, and Jason Allred of Templeton, MA. Richard is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence; as well as his siblings, Darwin Allred, Carol Dunn, Carl Allred; and special cousin, Shirley Nelson.

The family would like to thank Castleview Hospital and the nursing staff at Symbii Home Health and Hospice for all of their support and compassion over the past few months. To Drs. Shane Gagon, Kyle Jeffries, Marcos Valdez, and Nathan Rich, thank you for your time and excellent care.
