Henry “Hank” Sandoval, 78, passed away January 12, 2024 at the Bennion Veterans Home in Payson of natural causes.
Hank was born August 9, 1945 in Gallina, New Mexico to Jose Antonio and Apolonia Jacquez Sandoval. He was blessed with four children, Francine, Desi, Paula and Wendy.
Hank was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School. He was very patriotic and served honorably in the US Army. After returning from the service, he worked in various coal mines, eventually retiring from Joy Mining and Machinery in Green River, Wyoming. Hank was a man of many talents and his favorite pastime was turning a wrench in his garage. He could fix anything and if someone needed help, he was there to help anyone in need.
He shared a deep love for animals, especially his dogs Luna and Rath. He will be sorely missed by his family and a community of friends.
He is survived by his children, Francine (Sean) Karakachos, Desi Sandoval and Wendy Dart; brother, Gilbert (Veva) Sandoval; sisters, Bessie (Juan) Montealegre, Margie Duran, Louise (Candy) Manzanares, Josie (Jesse) Alcon, Deloris Quintana and Joanne (Steven) Manzanares; three grandkids, Xander Pappas, Kaylee Sandoval and Nick Karakachos; many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Hank was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Sandoval; brothers-in-law, Fred Duran, Buddy Quintana, Horacio Garcia and many other family members.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Bennion Veteran’s Home for the exceptional care and departure tribute and to Rick and Rudy Sandoval for all your help and dedication to our beloved father, brother and departed comrade.
