Luke Justice put up 21 at home on Wednesday night in the Spartan Center, as the North Sanpete Hawks came to town for a Region 12 tilt. Emery doubled up the Hawks in the first quarter, defending home court and taking the 75-40 win.

Emery is back on track after losing three in a row, winning back-to-back games as they head into the second half of the region schedule. Putting together a 12-4 overall mark and a 4-3 record in region play. Manti and Richfield sit atop the division sharing the same 6-1 record in league play.  Emery is sitting in the No. 3 spot in the RPI and is joined by five other teams from Region 12 in the top 10.

The Spartans came out in the first half and just took over putting the clamps on defensively holding the Hawks to 9 while doubling them up on the scoreboard and ending the opening quarter with an 18-9 lead.  The second quarter was all Spartans again pushing their lead and shutting down North Sanpete as the Spartans took a 38-20 lead to halftime.

In the second half, the Spartans were not about to let up, holding the Hawks to single-digit scoring in the third while increasing the lead heading to the final eight minutes. Entering the fourth quarter, the Spartans had the game well in hand at 61-28 as they played out the contest taking the 75-40 victory.

Justice grabbed nine boards to go with his 21 points to lead all scorers. Zack Tuttle had 18 along with six rebounds, and Wade Stilson scored 14, eight rebounds, and eight assists to go along with six steals.

Up next is the Juab Wasps who will come to Castle Dale on Friday night. The Wasps sit at 9-6 overall and bring with them the No. 7 rank in the RPI.
