The Carbon Dinos delivered their highest scoring single game output this season in a lopsided 80-62 victory over the North Sanpete Hawks Friday night in Price.
Trailing 37-36 at the end of the first half, the Dinos outscored the Hawks 24-7 in the third quarter to capture a double-digit lead. The momentum on offense carried over into the fourth quarter as Carbon added another 20 points and secured its second straight region win.
Kahner Raby was virtually unstoppable on both sides of the floor as he paced the Dinos in the win. Shooting an efficient 11-of-16 from the field, Raby posted a game-high 28 points to go along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Point guard Carter Warburton helped lead the Dinos as he scored 13 points and handed out four assists. Ryker Butler scored 11 points and Zeke Wilson chipped in with 10 and a team high six assists.
Friday’s win marks the second straight for Carbon, while earning a season-series split with the Hawks. On Wednesday the Dinos delivered a head turning win as they defeated then ranked No. 2 Canyon View. The two wins have pushed Carbon to No. 10 in the latest UHSAA RPI rankings.
Carbon now sits 7-9 overall and 3-5 in Region 12 play. The team will now prepare for a three-game road trip, which begins Wednesday against Juab.
