Ilene Jackson Fish, 86, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed January 19, 2024 at Castleview Hospital from a sudden illness.
She was born December 23, 1937 in Soldier Summit, Utah to George Edward and Mary Elenore “Nellie” Olson Jackson. On June 25, 1955, she married John Joe “Jack” Fish in Castle Gate, Utah; he preceded her in death on November 21, 2001.
Ilene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a longtime resident of the Castle Gate Subdivision where she was blessed with many wonderful neighbors and friends. Ilene loved being around family and helping raise her grand-daughter Amber. Ilene was a child at heart and she loved playing games with her grandchildren on the floor. Her youthful spirit and contagious smile kept her young at heart.
Ilene also enjoyed sewing and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She loved baking and cooking for her boys and being able to share her dishes with their co-workers at the power plant. Mom touched the hearts of all and she will be sorely missed.
Ilene is survived by her wonderful sons, John (Brenda) Fish, Clyde Fish, both of Helper; brother, Floyd (Pat) Mackley, Price; four grandchildren, Amber (Joe) Glotzbach, April, Justin and Scottie (Ashley) Minor; five great-grandchildren, Bryella & Tracen Fish, Zachary Fish, Riley & Ryan Minor; brother-in-law, Ted Granger; and many wonderful neighbors and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John J. Fish; four brothers, George, Reese, Neldon and Deloy; and her sisters, Millie, Ila, Betty and Leora.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gagon, Dr. Thayn and all doctors and nurses who fought to the bitter end for our mother. Sincere thanks of appreciation to the staff at Mitchell Funeral Home. Your acts of kindness and unwavering love to our family will never be forgotten.
