Carbon Lady Dino basketball is on a roll as of late. Winners of seven in a row heading into the game with Juab on Tuesday night and sporting an unblemished mark in Region 12 play. Carbon opened up a lead in the first quarter and never looked back taking the 60-46 win in front of the home crowd.

Carbon is a perfect 9-0 in league play moving into the final five games of the regular season, which comes to an end on February 8 at home against the Canyon View Falcons.

The first quarter set the tone for the entire contest as the Lady Dinos came out doubling up the Wasps, 18-9. Even though the second quarter was played a little bit tighter than the first, Carbon’s lead was never in doubt as they took a 30-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Coming out for the second half, the Lady Dinos went back to work on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball holding the Wasps to just seven points and pushing the Carbon lead to 48-27 heading into the final eight minutes. Juab came out firing in the fourth cutting the score as close as 13 with about 2 minutes left but that was all they could do as the Lady Dinos went on to take the 60-46 win.

Amiah Timothy led Carbon with 17, she also added seven assists, four steals, and a pair of rebounds. Madi Orth scored 13 with seven boards and four steals, and Kylen Sorenson had eight with six boards, four steals, and a pair each of assists and blocks.

The win moves the Dinos to 14-4 on the season with a perfect 9-0 mark in region play, they also sit in the No. 3 spot in the RPI.

Up next for Carbon is Delta, who will be in Price on Thursday night. Delta (5-13, 1-8 in region, and No.16) welcomed the Lady Dinos on December 19, With Carbon taking the 67-24 victory.

Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., in the gym at Carbon High School.
