Kenadie Maughn had a huge night for the Lady Spartans Tuesday when they welcomed the Delta Rabbits to the Spartan Center.  Maughn scored 18 to lead all scorers and pulled down eight boards in the 60-30 win on “Senior Night” for the Spartans.

Emery has posted a 4-2 mark in their last six and is putting it all together with just four games left in the regular season. Delta has had its struggles this season going 5-13 overall and 1-8 in region play and they also sit in the No.16 spot in the RPI.

The Lady Spartans came out firing in the first half holding the Rabbits to 10 points after one and six in the second quarter shutting them down defensively. They also found their offense outscoring Delta 38-16 taking the lead to the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Emery slowed down the scoring and defensively protected their lead. Delta would score 13 in the third quarter,  and in the final quarter, the Spartans held Delta to just one point in eight minutes, earning the 60-30 win.

Along with Maughn’s 18, Saige Curtis added 11 with a pair of assists and rebounds and Kabree Gordon added 10 with a pair of steals and one board.

The win moves the Lady Spartans to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in region play holding the No. 8 spot in the most recent RPI. Emery will travel to face Richfield on Thursday.  The Wildcats sit at 14-4 overall and 8-1 in region play, they are sitting in the No. 2 spot in the 3A RPI.
