The Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG) has a new name and new digs; they are now known as Southeastern Regional Development Agency (SERDA). They are so excited to be hosting their Grand Opening on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 10:00 am.

“We use to be called Southeastern Utah Association of Loval Governments, and with the move, we thought it would just be a good time to re-brand our name because over the years we have had so many people who we’ve been called Southeastern ALG, or SEUALG, so we are re-branding. Our new building there is a sign up now and we’re branding to SERDA which is Southeastern Regional Development Agency. But it’s still the same agency, we still provide the same services, programs, everything like that,” said Community Services Program Manager, Julie Rosier.

The new building is located on 252 South Fairgrounds Road and the facility offers more space for departments but will also be more room for the local food bank. “Something that we wanted to do for years and years is have a select choice pantry but we haven’t had the space. With our new building this will offer the opportunity for individuals who come or customers will be able to get a grocery cart and go through, kind of give them a grocery shopping experience, where they can choice the items that they would like. Which I think is really empowering for those individuals and I think it also increases food security, we know that people are selecting food items they want, and it will also reduce food waste,” stated Rosier. Officials have yet to move the food bank portion to the new facility as they are working towards that goal in the next few weeks.

The Grand Opening celebration schedule is as follows:

10:00 am                         Grand Opening ceremony & ribbon cutting

10:30 am                         Tour of the new building

11:00 am – 2:00 pm         Free Lunch
