Emery Swimming closed out the regular season on Saturday taking part in the Last Chance Invitational hosted by Carbon High. With over 10 schools competing in both divisions, the boy’s team finished in seventh and the Lady Spartans landed in eighth.

Union earned the top spot in the boy’s division, with 441 points, and Canyon View took second with 373. Juan Diego, Carbon, and Richfield made up the remainder of the top five.  The Spartans ended the day in seventh.

Brekker Bunnell, Jaimson Christiansen, Kade Larsen, and Porter Stilson swam to an eighth-place finish in the 200 free relay. Christiansen, Preston Hulse, Larsen, and Trek Petersen finished fifth in the 200 medley relay.

Larsen finished sixth in the 100 free, and ninth in the 200 IM, and Petersen finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke and in the 100 free took eighth.

Carbon earned the top finish on the ladies’ side of the pool with 394, Union finished in second with 323. Richfield, Canyon View, and Grand finished in the top five.  Emery ended the day in eighth.

Kate Bell, Jessie Childs, Illyria Mason, and Ashley Mesler claimed eighth in the 200 free relay. Childs, Mason, Mesler, and Morgan Mills took seventh in the 200 medley relay. Childs also finished in ninth in the 50 free.

The Divisional round will be this week in Cedar City, and the State Championships will take place on February 16 & 17 at Brigham Young University.
