Tuesday night at the Carbon High gym, the Lady Dinos welcomed the Richfield Wildcats. Richfield jumped out in the first half and never looked back taking the 68-42 win.

Carbon entered the contest at No. 3 and Richfield at No. 2, Carbon was on a nine-game win streak and Richfield a six-game win streak, something had to give.

The Wildcats started fast, doubling up the Lady Dinos in the first quarter 20-10, carrying the momentum into the second quarter. Richfield came out and kept Carbon off of their game putting up another 16 and holding the Lady Dinos to just nine in the quarter pushing their lead to 36-19.

In the second half, both teams squared up as they each scored 13, but it was just not Carbon’s night as Richfield came out in the fourth putting up another 19 on the Lady Dinos, pulling away and taking the 68-42 win.

Madi Orth led the way with 16 for the Dinos pulling down seven boards. Amiah Timothy added 13 with seven rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals. Kylan Sorenson added six with five rebounds in the loss.

Carbon falls to 15-5 overall and 10-1 in region play, they still hold the No. 3 spot in the RPI, with three games left on the schedule.

Thursday they will travel to face the No. 13 Manti Templars.

The final two games with Emery and Canyon View with both be at home.
