The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce recently held their annual Installation Banquet and Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Executive Director, Barbie Haeck to get all the details.

“We had our Installation Banquet on Jan. 18. Our new board president is Taren Bean of Emery Telcom, the new board vice president, Scottie Draper, ETV News, the new secretary, Steve Swinburne of Price Chapel, board treasurer, Valarie Marietti of Marietti Monuments, and the board past president is Lisa Mortensen of Flawless Sheeting,” said Haeck. The other board members were also recognized at the banquet with two new members coming in this year, Alyssa Potter with the C.A.R.E. Coalition and Carmen Jones, with WaFed Bank. All of the incoming board members were sworn in by Price City Police Chief, Brandon Sicilia.

Local businesses were also recognized at the annual Installation Banquet.  “The Small Business of the Year award when to Kylee Howell and Friar Tucks Barber Shop. The Large Business of the Year award went to Tony Basso and the Tony Basso Group of Companies. The Community Service award went to the Genisis Pregnancy Center. Then a new award we had this year was Start Up Business of the Year that went to Ryan Madsen at the Coyote’s Well,” said Haeck. Another new award that was presented this year was the Legacy Award which went to Charlie’s Pawn who closed their doors after 35 years of business. The last award for the event was presented to the Board Member of the Year which was Steve Swinburne with Price Chapel.

Next up for the Chamber is the February Luncheon at noon on Thursday, Feb. 15 at Price Chapel on 611 West Price River Drive.  “February’s luncheon is Feb. 15 at Price Chapel, behind Wendy’s. The speaker is from the SBDC and Custom Fit, Roger Koyle. The Business Spotlights are the Women’s Business Center of Utah, and Splash Tech. The Community Spotlight is the C.A.R.E. Coalition,” stated Haeck. The luncheon is being catered by Club Mecca and guests are urged to RSVP by Feb. 8.
