
Coming off the first region loss of the season against Richfield on Tuesday, the Lady Dinos were eager to get back on the court Thursday when they traveled to Manti to face the Templars. Behind a huge first half, Carbon earned the 58-43 win.
On Tuesday the Wildcats came to Price taking a 68-42 win. Manti was coming off a 64-42 loss to Emery in Castle Dale.
Thursday night Carbon was all business from the beginning putting up 18 in the first quarter while keeping the Templars off the scoreboard almost, allowing just four points. In the second it was all Lady Dinos once again as they put up 13 and allowed 9, as the Dinos took a 31-12 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, both teams settled in with Carbon just keeping pace with the Templars. Manti outscored the Dinos in the third by three, and Carbon would play even with them in the fourth, as the Dino lead held, taking the 58-43 win.
Amiah Timothy led the way with 21 adding five assists, four rebounds, and four steals. Jacie Jensen scored 14 with eight boards and seven steals, and Kylan Sorenson added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Carbon moves to 16-5 overall and 11-1 in Region 12 play, they also sit in the No. 3 in the latest RPI rankings, with just two games left in the regular season.
The Dinos final two games will be at home when they welcome in Emery and Canyon View.
The Lady Spartan scome to Price on Tuesday and then Carbon wraps up the regular season on Thursday when the Canyon View Falcons come to town.
