
The Carbon wrestling squad competed in the divisional round tournament, the first step of the post-season that will culminate at the State Championships in Richfield.
The divisional round was held at Emery High School and featured eight schools from the 3A classification.
South Summit earned first place with 312.5 points followed by Morgan with 280.5. North Sanpete, Emery, and Carbon made up the remainder of the top five.
Brax Tapia was the top finisher for the Dinos and ended the tournament with a 3-1 record earning a second-place finish in his weight class. Eleke Lang at 157 pounds went 3-1 taking third place in his class. Trevor Jones (120), Jace Barlow (150), and Jeovany Hernandez (150) all finished with a 3-2 record.
In all the Dinos qualified 17 wrestlers for state competition, which is coming up on February 16 & 17 at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
