Ascension St Matthews Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held on Feb. 13 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the church located on 522 North Homestead Boulevard in Price. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Event Representative, Pam Adams to share all the details with listeners.

“The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is always on Shrove Tuesday, that’s the day before Ash Wednesday. So our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at Ascension St Matthews on Homestead Boulevard, up near the school and the new cemetery. That is a Tuesday, February 13, serving from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm,” stated Adams. The breakfast is prepared and served by members of the church.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale and the donation price is $5.00 per meal or $20.00 for a family, children that are three years old and under are free with accompanied adult. Adams explains what the supper consists of, “All you can eat pancakes, a slice of ham, and some scrambled eggs, and the juice of your choice, you know what every you want to drink. So I think we should make sure that people know that anyone is welcomed.” Gluten free pancakes will be made available this year, plus take-out will be available for those individuals that are unable to stay to enjoy their meal.

The church’s gift shop will be open during the supper and guests are invited to stop by and shop.  “The gift shop will be open. We have handmade items, books, coloring books, mugs, jewelry. There’s just a huge amount of stuff, it isn’t just one thing,” said Adams. Items inside the shop include homemade items, Advent candles, wreaths, and religious jewelry. Most of the items have been made by the parishioners and the store is run by volunteers.
