Friends of Kara Cunningham are hosting a Share The Love Cancer Benefit on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5:00 pm till midnight at the Carbon County Event Center. Everyone in the community is invited to attend this fun event.
“Myself and some other friends of Kara’s came together and wanted to do something and we came up with the idea of having an event right after Valentine’s Day, the Saturday after, where you can bring your Valentine out or you can bring your family out and there’s going to be something for everybody. We’re going to split the Event Center kind of in half, and there will be casino games on one side, and then the BINGO on the other side,” said Event Organizer, Alyssa Potter. There will be prizes awarded, face painting, casino games and a bake sale taking place throughout the evening.
Kara Cunningham is a single mom who is battling Metastatic Melanoma Stage 3C for a second time. “She’s a devoted mother of two, battled Stage 3 of Metastatic Melanoma for the second time. Despite her health challenges, Kara continues to selflessly serve our community with unwavering dedication as a compassionate Mental Health Therapist, and holds a role as a full-time Clinical Director. She’s a single mom, born and raised in Carbon County, she attended schools in Helper and is graduate of Carbon High in 1999,” explained Potter. By attending this event you will be helping Kara financially with her medical expenses.
Dinner will be served on this evening by Gettin Our Smoke On, who in turn will donate all of their dinner profits towards the cause. “Its really going to be something that everyone can enjoy. We hope that you come, and we’re really thankful for everyone that’s pulled the weight of putting this together, including those businesses. You know businesses around Carbon and Emery County have come together and donated gift cards, gift certificates, baskets, service certificates. We have oil changes; we have $500.00 gift card to JN Auto. We have a gun donated from Sportsman Corners inside Bills Home Furnishings. There’s a lot of great items that have been donated from businesses, we’re really excited,” stated Potter.
