The Green River Pirates have closed out the regular season earning the No.8 spot in the final RPI by the Utah High School Activities Association. The Pirates also earned a first-round bye meaning their postseason won’t start until Wednesday, February 28.
The Pirates finished out the regular season with a 16-7 overall mark and an unblemished 8-0 record in Region 19 play.
Green River will get started next Wednesday when they face No. 9 Milford at 2:30 in Richfield. The Tigers finished regular season play with a 13-11 mark, earning a 2-4 record in region play. These two teams faced each other on February 6 with the Pirates taking the 70-56 win.
If the Pirates win, they will face the winner of No. 1 Rich and the Pinnacle/Altamont contest. That game will take place on Thursday the 29th at 7:00 p.m.
