Our one-of-a-kind and unbelievably loved Robert “Bob” Sherman was born on September 24th, 1944 in Standardville, Utah to William Franklin Sherman and Armida Louise Keele. He left us to join his Lord and Savior peacefully on February 24th, 2024 at his family home in Price, Utah. He was married to the love of his life, Priscilla “Vicki” Horrall, on March 30th, 1963 and Sealed for Time and for All Eternity in the Timpanogos Temple on March 9th, 2006. Bob was a lifelong member and elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he also held the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Part of the first graduating class of Carbon High School, Bob was always a leader. He worked for 30 years for the Utah Department of Transportation as a Highway Design Specialist, designing innumerable Utah highways including I-70 and the Thistle Slide Bypass Highway. After his many years of supporting the State of Utah, he worked for Horrocks Engineering for 15 years in the Design and Right of Way Acquisition Department where he had many great accomplishments including the prototype design of the direction markers for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.
A family man first, Bob was always prioritizing his beautiful wife and four wonderful children; he was a tireless provider. He finished building four family homes in his lifetime and one of his favorite projects was his family cabin which he and his sons built together from the ground up. Constantly busy, he was always working on a project. He loved woodworking, building, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His talents and intellect extended far beyond engineering and craftsmanship; he was also a musician and had a love for music. In his later years, he was kept company by and went on many adventures with his special friend, Kathy Wright. His amazing sense of humor and quick wit always lit up the room and brought a smile to the face of those around him.
Bob is survived by his four children, Rebecca Sherman (Stephen), Brian Sherman (Aundra), Kirk Sherman (Shawna), and Christine Castleberry (Mike); 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
